Orders
A 50% deposit is required to proceed with any order of blinds/louvers/parts and the outstanding balance is required to be paid on the day of fitting. A sample of your chosen blind and/or fabric, will be shown to you on the day the measurements are taken. Once the deposit is paid you are agreeing to the specification for the ordered product and you authorize Thurrock Blinds to order the product to this specification. After this point the order becomes none refundable. When ordering blackout blinds please note that when these are fitted in the recess light will still come through from the sides and the top as extra space must to be allowed for the mechanism. When ordering venetian or vertical blinds a small amount of light will show through the louvres/slats as this is the nature of the blinds. In order to block your light completely the option is choosing a roller or a roman blind to be fitted as an exact measurement outside the recess allowing at least 7.5 cm on each side including the top and bottom of the blind.
Delivery/Installation
The delivery date/time is an estimate only and although most deliveries arrive in due time no liability will be taken in case of any loss sustained by you in case Thurrock Blinds fails to meet the time scale because of circumstances beyond its reasonable control and this includes any delay with couriers or a delay in the manufacturing process. You will be notified whenever possible verbally or in writing about any delay. In order to ensure safe working practice the area in which the work is to be carried out must be clear without any limitation of furniture, objects, pets, plants and household residents. Thurrock Blinds will deliver and install your blinds on a date and time agreed that will be suitable for both parties. It is important to have access to your property on that date and time*. If this will not be possible for any reason, at least 12 hours notice is required in writing. If you fail to give the stated notice an additional charge of £40 for each failed attempt to gain access to your property will apply. There will be a maximum of two attempts to gain access to your property. After any second failed attempt Thurrock Blinds reserves the right to cancel our contract which will result in the loss of your full deposit. It is also important that free parking for a small size van is available and failure to provide this may result in an extra charge. Although every effort will be made to minimize gaps between the blinds when multiple blinds are to be installed next to each other or within the skirting boards and therefore ordering an exact size or when being fitting into a recess, please note that all blinds come with a tolerance of 5 mm plus and 5mm minus due to the manufacturing process. Roller blinds over 2 metres will have a fabric join.In any and all cases where cables and/or pipes are concealed behind the plasterboard/brickwork or other material no liability will be taken for any damage caused to any part, and by agreeing to the fitting you agree that this has been previously known and/or inspected and take full responsibility on your side for any damage caused.
*A message in writing will be sent to you after attempting to gain access to your property. There will be a maximum waiting time of 20 minutes. At the conclusion of this waiting time a new agreed date and time for the fitting of the blinds will need to be agreed.
Payment
Payment can be made in cash or via bank transfer. If payment is in cash a receipt will be given upon request. A 50% deposit is required prior to ordering any blinds/goods and the full outstanding balance must be paid on the fitting day of the blinds.
Delayed payments will incur an extra payment of £40-£100 plus monthly interest according to the delayed period.
If full payment is not received on the fitting day the blinds are still property of Thurrock Blinds and therefore these could be taken down without any obligation to make good on previously drilled holes and at this point the contract will be cancelled and this will occur in a loss of any deposit paid in advance. Payment by cheque is only permitted for orders issued to government bodies after the issue of an invoice.
Your right to cancel
Where goods are made to measure and therefore customized to your own requirement/specification you will have no right to cancel your order, return your goods or seek a refund.
Faulty Goods
All goods must be inspected, and faults reported in writing either via email or text within 48 hours from the day of fitting. If any of the goods supplied and fitted are defective an inspection of the blinds is required from Thurrock blinds prior to repairing or replacement of the blinds. If the blinds are not faulty or defective at the time of inspection, Thurrock Blinds reserves the right to charge a call out fee. At the time of replacement, it is possible that certain products may no longer match defective products due to changes in products specification over the time, should this be the case, Thurrock Blinds will not accept any liability to replace non faulty products solely to ensure colour match.
